The week of Thanksgiving all of the kids got sick and we were stuck home all week. We all got a bit stir crazy. So the day after Thanksgiving we decided to take a little trip to <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Tillamook</span>. It was so fun because they had it decorated for Christmas. It doesn't matter how many times we go, it's always like the first time. We hit the sample line twice, got ice cream, purchased our regulars and wandered around for a while. If you haven't been, I highly suggest you go! YUM!!!<br /></div><div style='clear:both; text-align:CENTER'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Rachellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06485372920362506543noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2805772177035903509.post-39772358695883527142009-11-04T20:23:00.000-08:002009-11-04T20:52:18.316-08:00So it's been a while...what?I know its' been forever and 16 days since I last posted. I decided that I really don't care much for keeping up a blog. It feels kinda weird assuming people want to read and see what you are up to!<br /><br />Life has been really busy over the past month or so. Jake is always busy with work, school and church responsibilities. I myself am not working with the young women in our church anymore. I LOVED that calling, but it was my time to move on. I have kept busy helping out in many capacities at the kids school, working and hanging out with my sister. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am that she is back. In fact, I am waiting for her to come get me so we can go for a walk! I love her (even though she posts on her blog that I am a crazy cat lady :)!<br /><br />Jake's Grandpa passed away last week. We made the trip to Boise for the funeral. We left Thursday morning and came back Friday night. The kids handled it all really well, even the car ride! It was a sad occasion, but it was good to see Fisher clan.<br /><br />I will post a few pics here and will really truly try to keep my 365 blog updated as best as I can!<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcE-OTSuiZ6QEocyhL7lbOollGS0XvmFrG-iAj1yIQDm5sgIZ9Hio1ClHLpapns68CM0nOhqjU2TsaB67tnJl9F1pqrAFndMxCuqIKiTx8a86WQoU6Ckex9W-MBGWUvtLayIfAn-2HoEU/s1600-h/IMG_1549.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcE-OTSuiZ6QEocyhL7lbOollGS0XvmFrG-iAj1yIQDm5sgIZ9Hio1ClHLpapns68CM0nOhqjU2TsaB67tnJl9F1pqrAFndMxCuqIKiTx8a86WQoU6Ckex9W-MBGWUvtLayIfAn-2HoEU/s400/IMG_1549.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400477083731278818" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmlTwpNYorKjqGUuIz0Jlpi8dxMHKXhqb9fljXFrOakJtKEV6RR80Qf0pY5TFgyF9aMyPxd5Qaii3Au_MQP6tfqtanj8Q3UHMUy1I2mUd6bqrUxyitkEo8-Gi7tuaDvZevK7FczuDflJY/s1600-h/IMG_1548.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmlTwpNYorKjqGUuIz0Jlpi8dxMHKXhqb9fljXFrOakJtKEV6RR80Qf0pY5TFgyF9aMyPxd5Qaii3Au_MQP6tfqtanj8Q3UHMUy1I2mUd6bqrUxyitkEo8-Gi7tuaDvZevK7FczuDflJY/s400/IMG_1548.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400477076782193714" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTo-vA74vG4Esnmvg6T0xFLmgRsWIFH2M4qCSRU-e3MrUvvhtz9YijiU5Uc9jn_ajZxxTaWRTFioGqUoWZEA00yNWNHkQdIJcr4yuGMyFuh58DB15cWhqswc1rHucJHO30dpJn1SF63AY/s1600-h/IMG_1546.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTo-vA74vG4Esnmvg6T0xFLmgRsWIFH2M4qCSRU-e3MrUvvhtz9YijiU5Uc9jn_ajZxxTaWRTFioGqUoWZEA00yNWNHkQdIJcr4yuGMyFuh58DB15cWhqswc1rHucJHO30dpJn1SF63AY/s400/IMG_1546.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400477066734953090" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZIQMJ02CSitkTrhVO7NQuaahQq7OFJ-rEX7pErGJ51t5tiY1rnmGtIAFojn4CLWrjE8YZE1jBbFyZs9BMkjQrU6rQFNaoiYIHsiF0F0__MzJ7HL79mWYgXd_x8Hf9GhqpAq1A1lgQTqk/s1600-h/IMG_1519.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZIQMJ02CSitkTrhVO7NQuaahQq7OFJ-rEX7pErGJ51t5tiY1rnmGtIAFojn4CLWrjE8YZE1jBbFyZs9BMkjQrU6rQFNaoiYIHsiF0F0__MzJ7HL79mWYgXd_x8Hf9GhqpAq1A1lgQTqk/s400/IMG_1519.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400477059388953922" border="0" /></a>Rachellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06485372920362506543noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2805772177035903509.post-58010487505928854562009-08-20T22:20:00.000-07:002009-08-20T22:20:31.784-07:00Some Pics From the Summer<div style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px">I thought I would post some random pics....here we go...<br /><br /><br /><br />This picture below is of some of my nieces (and Ellie of coarse). Was it seriously 6 years ago that I held my sweet newborn baby Charlie in my arms? My baby who didn't cry for the first 2 days of his life? He has sure made up for the 2 days though...<br /><br />All Charlie wanted for his birthday was a BIG squirt gun. It ended up being 2 medium sized ones. Unfortunately my big 6 year old doesn't have the muscle strength it takes to get the trigger down all of the way :-( He just uses the little <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">cheapy</span> ones he got from Henry and is more than happy with those!</div><br /><div style="MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxDWL1CbPpb9hAGicqleKcCcLS7DT4UddhF0WLjC73SC1PvXqOVp2OoniQcpVmjloYqGrP3OkVGKPvjszjh-t6d1C0k6vHxpahMLyqDDDFAYc7PL-rV9YSvBpdKWPuTGKbAhWTF6y-5m0/s1600-h/Charlie's+Haircut+and+Party.jpg"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxDWL1CbPpb9hAGicqleKcCcLS7DT4UddhF0WLjC73SC1PvXqOVp2OoniQcpVmjloYqGrP3OkVGKPvjszjh-t6d1C0k6vHxpahMLyqDDDFAYc7PL-rV9YSvBpdKWPuTGKbAhWTF6y-5m0/s400/Charlie's+Haircut+and+Party.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />For Charlies b-day, we had a very casual get together with friends and family. We had it at what Charlie calls the Pirate Ship park. There is a play structure there that is shaped like a pirate ship. Charlie has had plans for a party for MONTHS! Once everyone got there he sat the guests down and went over the rules...no hitting, no kicking, no punching...then he went over his agenda...duck, duck goose, limbo, freeze tag and the egg game. Now, this egg game thing has been something we have been discussing for <em>at least</em> 6 months. I guess it's something they did in school, except with plastic eggs. It's just your basic egg on spoon relay race. However, Charlie's version is that you don't run, and it's not a race. So basically the kids just walked back and forth with their eggs on their spoons, trying not to drop them. It was a fun little evening.<br /><br />p.s. Charlie decorated his own b-day cake...that was part of his "plans"<br /><br /><br /></div><div style='clear:both; text-align:CENTER'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Rachellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06485372920362506543noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2805772177035903509.post-56899515576049149212009-06-14T23:03:00.000-07:002009-06-14T23:03:07.575-07:00Art Show<div style="MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRXVu1mMDfejwtDgbVfbvymIACYf4oWnAbkpLKpJVnqvWbOrVQYHkUqqBVWFO5T1nWRgCBjXPve3WQ2-2OnkX319pkowXjltmWl9aeK7U6NvXDXVCXA3w5TtwJ-rbZmVTAJk0lv_j9uDI/s1600-h/Chucks+Cut+20091.jpg"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRXVu1mMDfejwtDgbVfbvymIACYf4oWnAbkpLKpJVnqvWbOrVQYHkUqqBVWFO5T1nWRgCBjXPve3WQ2-2OnkX319pkowXjltmWl9aeK7U6NvXDXVCXA3w5TtwJ-rbZmVTAJk0lv_j9uDI/s400/Chucks+Cut+20091.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />Ellie hosted an art show this afternoon. She took the boys out back with some watercolors and put them to work. Here they are displaying their best pieces (notice she wrote the "title" on each of them). She wanted me to come out and judge them. On a scale of 1-10, I gave them each a 10.5! Henry got the extra .5 for his use of color and Charlie got his .5 for the display of action taking place in his work (it's an erupting volcano).<br /></div><div style='clear:both; text-align:CENTER'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Rachellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06485372920362506543noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2805772177035903509.post-36185222636620465982009-06-12T11:12:00.000-07:002009-06-12T11:13:00.850-07:00Here's a <a href="http://365daysofrachelle.blogspot.com/">link</a> to my 365 project blog.Rachellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06485372920362506543noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2805772177035903509.post-58623937608190183732009-06-10T23:55:00.000-07:002009-06-10T23:55:26.170-07:00Schools Out!!!<div style="MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; TEXT-ALIGN: center">Schools out...how the heck <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">did</span> that happen...honestly!? It's a blog where you post 1 picture a day <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">for</span> 365 days. Big <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">moments</span> or little moments...random items or random children...whatever. It's a way for you to go back and look at not only the big and exciting things you've accomplished, but also the little and sometimes <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">forgotten</span> things. I will have to become a daily picture taker, which could get crazy, but I'm going to try...here is the link<br /><br /><a href="http://365daysofrachelle.blogspot.com/">http://365daysofrachelle.blogspot.com</a><br /><br />I will figure out how to get the link on the side of my blog page...<br /><br />Okay, good luck to myself...<br /><br />p.s. I just realized that my 1st day post was done just a few minutes past midnight, but that doesn't count as today does it?Rachellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06485372920362506543noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2805772177035903509.post-71442848833154406812009-06-05T20:05:00.000-07:002009-06-05T20:05:42.510-07:00Reflections....<div style="MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil0yvTwKAIuCMw6HmvcZXSElqzl8NPPdhLJ9eJ7ORAbHPIdgushPkx2NRyuzB6rVIySEmkD74KJDWUxFjuk206ISkBo4MlWEH-DySP-9H6MizmDPeAFFkEGRUjQ_-eUQtqoHi_toDZwoI/s1600-h/Ellie's+BDay+2009.jpg"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil0yvTwKAIuCMw6HmvcZXSElqzl8NPPdhLJ9eJ7ORAbHPIdgushPkx2NRyuzB6rVIySEmkD74KJDWUxFjuk206ISkBo4MlWEH-DySP-9H6MizmDPeAFFkEGRUjQ_-eUQtqoHi_toDZwoI/s400/Ellie's+BDay+2009.jpg" border="0" /></a> </div><div style='clear:both; text-align:CENTER'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Rachellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06485372920362506543noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2805772177035903509.post-63603252888855058692009-05-26T00:41:00.000-07:002009-05-26T20:57:54.431-07:00Memorial Day Fun<div style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQWxFWsadou8vqzk47LRihDNRwvbNBbHGCPmutPCeDNl5_QHyxcMKeOmAH-9vKdv9tPIeBZrcy6cxg2K6yxRIY2Pwka_nUKR4U30bS_JkIT1jyD1dw72eNjX1gAjXywmSsn7JeK11URU4/s1600-h/Memorial+Day+2009.jpg"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQWxFWsadou8vqzk47LRihDNRwvbNBbHGCPmutPCeDNl5_QHyxcMKeOmAH-9vKdv9tPIeBZrcy6cxg2K6yxRIY2Pwka_nUKR4U30bS_JkIT1jyD1dw72eNjX1gAjXywmSsn7JeK11URU4/s400/Memorial+Day+2009.jpg" border="0" /></a> </div><br /><div style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiF2vansU-tQvEphDlulVLDH7gqE8FNBYy_Qsj0FXU0H34kt2FLAB9uV8vtf-RukzaSF6w1LgY56Sa_SIYE7bgghR8MIlJH_HqtNyiNM4ljdf5O5THGcpAP6tRjixCmU1F7nBOutWYu70/s1600-h/Memorial+Day+20091.jpg"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiF2vansU-tQvEphDlulVLDH7gqE8FNBYy_Qsj0FXU0H34kt2FLAB9uV8vtf-RukzaSF6w1LgY56Sa_SIYE7bgghR8MIlJH_HqtNyiNM4ljdf5O5THGcpAP6tRjixCmU1F7nBOutWYu70/s400/Memorial+Day+20091.jpg" border="0" /></a> </div>Today was a great day. Then, as Grandma's and Grandpa's do, they took all of the kids to the park (I am including Jake as a kid). :-} <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">Jenell</span> picked the kids up from the park and she was heading to a birthday party for her <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">niece</span> up in <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">Battleground</span>.<br /><br />Next, Jake's parents took the Fisher kids to see the new Night at the Museum movie. I was a bit jealous, because I've been wanting to go see it. But instead, we went shopping for new flip flops and got some syrups for our Italian Soda's we were wanting to make. IT is always nice to have alone time!<br /><br />The conclusion of our night was a <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">BBQ</span> at our house with some of our dearest friends...the <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9">Mouritsens</span> and the Adams. However, to my dismay, she also wanted to quit dance. I told her that she could take a year off of dance and see if she really likes softball. Softball takes up A LOT of time. So far she is enjoying it. I think it helps to have your dad as your coach. Although Jake has no <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">experience</span> with softball, the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">league</span> was short a coach and informed us that if a parent didn't step up as coach, they would have to <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">disband</span> the team. Well, of coarse we wanted Ellie to be able to play, so <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Jake</span> volunteered. It's been a learning experience for all of us. Charlie was playing with his brother and cousin yesterday and ended up with a hole in the top of his head (it's such a hard thing to explain...it involved a bike trailer pole). Charlie has a huge doctor phobia, so a trip to the emergency room was VERY dramatic! He screamed at the top of his lungs the whole time, but was as happy as a clam when he and Jake came walking out of the ER. They had given him a little homemade bear. You can see him sleeping with it in the middle picture. It's made out of Crayola Crayon fabric and has a face drawn on with a Sharpie! He loved it SO much! He named it Spot Crayon Fisher. I wish I could tell who ever made it that it helped this little boy feel better. She and a group of <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">friends</span> traveled from Utah to L.A. to see it last year. She is constantly singing all of the songs from the soundtrack and was determined to get me to like it. Her opportunity arrived when it was traveling through Portland. Heather wanted to go see this with <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Annah</span> and Megan (her two daughters) and since Megan lives here in Oregon, she thought it would be fun to fly here and all of us go see it. We just weren't sure it was going to happen and then one day Brad (Heather's husband) called me. I can always tell when Brad is working up a plan. He probably called me about 4 times within a couple of hours and just kept asking me about dates of the show and if was I planning on going...just <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">questions</span> like that. Next call I get from him, he tells me that he has booked a flight for <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Annah</span> and Heather and bought tickets for all of us to go to the show!<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl00M-0fQTrL8h5LlkZQFUDWu0Orob-deQdKKuldE-kGiWB1zn0pYv48jooW-IX4_VPLlDuc1sAjaPvAGlbBNNN29hKPQsaq9jYLCpsTFHI6WKuC-rFhgOR2kQAL5VU6mR0vxgQYTbecU/s1600-h/Wicked2.jpg"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl00M-0fQTrL8h5LlkZQFUDWu0Orob-deQdKKuldE-kGiWB1zn0pYv48jooW-IX4_VPLlDuc1sAjaPvAGlbBNNN29hKPQsaq9jYLCpsTFHI6WKuC-rFhgOR2kQAL5VU6mR0vxgQYTbecU/s400/Wicked2.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />Let me explain the picture above...<br />I really enjoy giving my sister a hard time about her love for Wicked. The songs she would play for me all sounded SO cheesy. I guess I've never been big on musicals. Anyway, when I picked her up at the airport, I wore my witches hat a played "No One Mourns the Wicked" really loudly on the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">stereo</span>. I got out to help her get her luggage out of the car and cackled a few times.<br /></div><div style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimnl9XP5e2dAbo5xQmhWy91pI9CdEtQGts2Jq1cMzQGaELck6hSA6551KH_28pXixGNXvo27P9Trb2iY7akfZi9QS9Ni11275DHo66klsj-f3YBnOieYCaOWjSivH3cu-dLxOQE7wJRCg/s1600-h/Wicked3.jpg"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimnl9XP5e2dAbo5xQmhWy91pI9CdEtQGts2Jq1cMzQGaELck6hSA6551KH_28pXixGNXvo27P9Trb2iY7akfZi9QS9Ni11275DHo66klsj-f3YBnOieYCaOWjSivH3cu-dLxOQE7wJRCg/s400/Wicked3.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />While Heather was here, we <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">decided</span> to get all of the sis-in-laws together. Miriam, Sariah and Amber came up from Eugene and we all went to <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">Changs</span>. YUMMY!!! Actually, Heather and I got together with Megan and her boyfriend Justin the night before at <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">Changs</span>...2 days of <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9">Changs</span> is a good thing! I love the sun...I hate the heat! I realize that the mid 70's are not "hot"...but when the weather has been nothing but rain, hail, wind and more rain, the jump in temp can surprise a heat challenged person!<br /><br />I live in Oregon. Maybe I would fair better in Seattle!<br /><br />The sun, however, did provide some <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">entertainment</span> for the kids on their day off of school. Ellie and Henry went to a neighbors to do the whole sprinkler under <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">the</span> trampoline thing. Charlie wanted to go SO bad, but they don't have an enclosure and those who know Chuck, know that slippery surfaces and Charlie don't mix. I decided to let him put our sprinkler in the grass. It's a cool idea and was VERY fun for me to fill out. I am a music person through and through. I have a wide range of taste in music..<br /><br />I warn you, that although it was fun for me to write, you may find it very boring...sorry....feel no pressure to read. It was just fun going through it in my mind.<br /><br />The Title of this Survey is "Desert Island" collection. You are told to make a list of 15 albums you would bring with you a deserted Island if you were forced to go...oh no, which albums do I bring...Well, here it goes for Rachelle<br /><br />In no particular order.<br /><br />1. The White Album - The Beatles<br />I'm not sure how my fascination with The Beatles began. I really started to <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">listen</span> to them when I was in the 7 g<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">rade</span></span>, but didn't fully appreciate them till about my <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Sophomore</span> year of high school. The White Album is the one Beatles album that I listened to, over and over and over. I love ALL of The Beatles albums, but this is my <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">fav</span></span></span></span>. "Rocky <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">Raccoon</span>" is probably my top pick as far as songs go on this album.<br /><br />2.</span><span style=";font-family:Verdana;font-size:180%;" ><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-size:100%;">Abby Road - The Beatles</span></span></span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">Another great Beatles album. This was the first Beatles vinyl I bought. I got it at some little shop downtown Portland. It's an original print and cost me a pretty penny. I think that was the summer of 1996. Top 2 songs "Because" and "She came in through the Bathroom Window".</span><br /><span style=";font-family:arial;font-size:100%;" ><br /><br /><br />3. Bad - Michael Jackson<br />My brother bought this for me for Christmas 1987. I was already obsessed with <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">MJ</span></span></span></span>, but this album sealed the deal for sure. I wanted so badly to be his friend! "Bad" is still on of my most loved songs...how can you not love these lyrics..."</span><span style=";font-family:Verdana;font-size:180%;" ><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-size:100%;">I'm Giving You...on Count Of Three...to Show Your stuff...or Let It Be...I'm Telling You...just Watch Your Mouth...I Know Your Game...What You're About. And the video for "Smooth Criminal"...so good!<br /><br />4. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Rockin</span></span></span></span>' The Suburbs - Ben Folds<br />So good! I love Ben Folds! He is an amazing songwriter and musician! "The Luckiest" is my <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">fav</span></span></span> song on this album, but I love them all!<br /><br />5. Swamp Ophelia - Indigo Girls<br />My friend Tracey and I stumbled across the Indigo Girls after watching the movie, Boys on the Side. The first song we ever heard was off of this album. I'm not a huge fan of the Amy Ray songs, but this is for sure my <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">fav</span></span></span> of theirs..."Least Complicated" and "The Wood Song".<br /><br />6. </span></span></span><span style=";font-family:Verdana;font-size:180%;" ><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-size:100%;"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">Poseiden</span></span></span> and the Bitter Bug - Indigo Girls<br />This album was actually just released...however, I have already listened to it 5 million times! The Indigo Girls' last few albums have veered away from the classic harmonies that their early albums had...this one brings them back. Just a side note...Tracey and I try to go to every show that they play in the Portland area. I think we have seen them at least 7 times...?</span></span></span><br /><span style=";font-family:Verdana;font-size:180%;" ><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-size:100%;"><br />7. Listen Without Prejudice - George Michael<br />I love Mr. Michael. He's a bit gross but has one of the best voices ever! I would listen to this tape on the bus rides to and from soccer games. "Praying For Time" and "Mothers Pride" are my <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">fav</span></span></span> tracks.<br /><br />8. Bleed American - Jimmy Eat World<br />This band is a huge band in the Fisher household. I listened to this album over and over again while painting the bedroom of our Dartmouth St. house. My <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9">fav</span></span></span> Jimmy Eat World song comes from this album..".A Praise Chorus". SO DANG GOOD! I kinda developed a crush on Tom!<br /><br />9. I Say, I Say, I Say - Erasure<br />This album reminds me of my <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13">obsessive</span> <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_14">exercise</span> days. Jake was getting home from his mission soon and I wanted to be in peak shape. All I ate were Powerbars...yuck...and I <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_15">seriously</span> ran between 5 to 7 miles a day and jump roped. I really miss running! I really miss being thin! "Run to the Sun"...<br /><br />10. </span></span></span><span style=";font-family:arial;font-size:100%;" >Hopes and Fears - Keane<br />This is one of those albums that really "spoke" to me. I know that sounds ultra cheesy, but every time I listen to it, I can feel every lyric. I was going through a bit of a mental rut when this album was released and a few of these songs really helped me cope. Once again, I know that sounds corny, but it's true...<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11">fav</span></span></span></span> songs - "Somewhere Only We Know" and "<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_17"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_12">Everybody's</span></span></span></span> Changing".</span><br /><span style=";font-family:Verdana;font-size:180%;" ><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style=";font-family:arial;font-size:100%;" ><br />11. Shepard Moon - <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_18"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_13">Enya</span></span></span><br />I put this one on here, <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_19">because</span> it's an album that I used to listen to multiple times a day. I still really enjoy it, although I don't listen to it much anymore. My 2 loves on this album are "Book of Days" and "No Holly For Miss Quinn". The later because, Jake taught me how to play the first half of this song on the piano.<br /><br />12. Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits<br />I don't really have a <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_20"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_14"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_14">fav</span></span></span> album of this awesome duo. The Greatest Hits bring all of them together. I LOVE Art <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_21">Garfunkel</span>. His voice in amazing! "The Boxer" and "The Sound of Silence" are the best tracks...<br /><br />13. Paintings in my Mind - Tommy Page<br />So cheesy, yet so awesome! This album brings back so many memories. My friends <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_22"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_15"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_15">Tassie</span></span></span>, Heather and I used to lay an the floor and listen to this tape. We would rewind the title track over and over and feel such strong emotions...I'm pretty sure we cried.<br /><br />14. Louder Than Bombs - The Smiths<br />My sister had this album and I <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_23">absolutely</span> LOVED it from the very first time I heard it. When I was going to bed I would play "Sing me to Sleep" over and over <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_24">again</span> till I did fall asleep. There are 24 tracks on this album...I love "Golden Lights", "<span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_25">William</span> it was Really Nothing" and "Panic"<br /><br />15. Hear My <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_26">Praise</span> - Kenneth Cope<br />I had to throw a religious one in here. Kenneth cope is on of my <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_27"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16">fav</span></span></span> <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_28"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_17"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_17">LDS</span></span></span> performers (that's Mormon to those of you who are very confused). He has some amazing songs on this album..."Breathe in Me" is beautiful and powerful. It was actually written by Michael W. The counters are pretty 70's and the paint job of the cupboards is really bad. I've had a hard time deciding what to do with the area above the sink.<br /><br />At our old house, I had a <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">mirror above the sink</span>. It was nice because it made the kitchen look bigger. The current space didn't fit any of my mirrors and so I have left it empty for some time. When we got home from the beach this last time, I was trying to think of a good way to display all of the cool rocks and shells that we collect on our beach visits. I <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">remembered</span> some old jars that I got from Jake's mother. I went out in the garage and <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">scavenged</span> around for a bit. I am hoping to lean towards really fun. I told the kids that we were only putting select shells and rocks in the jars.
